Dehydration is apparently normal on ketosis? I have recently been retaining water, I guess because I haven’t been drinking enough water so my body is hoarding all the water it can. People say that you feel the most dehydrated when you’re in heavy ketosis and I hope they’re right because it’s hard as hell to continue drinking 16 cups of water per day and frustrating when the scales don’t go down.

#19 Finding it harder
Not sure if I’m in ketosis or not. I’ve stopped losing weight and started gaining despite following the diet. I might have had some minor carb ups during the weekends (nothing above 100g), but that could not have been it. It might be my flu? I’ve become dehydrated despite drinking a lot of fluids in a day. My body has been hoarding water I guess cause I went up a pound again today. It’s so frustrating cause I’m keeping to my below 20g-30g carb allowance. It’s either the medicine, my flu or my multi-vitamins. But people take multivits on SKD all the time. Besides, I take them every other day cause I don’t like the neon shade of green the vits turn my pee into. ._. It’s very disturbing to see nuclear colored pee.
#18 Movie Wednesday
Good news, I woke up with that annoying itch at the back of my throat gone. All that drinking ginger, lemon and honey paid off. But I woke up extremely dehydrated. I think I peed out all the sodium in my body. I ignored it and just drank a cup of water before heading out for a day of movies with my friend.
#17 Coughing
From headaches, fevers and a blocked nose to an itchy throat that has developed into a dry cough, which I try to control a lot of the time. I don’t like coughing and hacking in public. I’ve been trying to drink some tea to help keep the cough at bay and it’s been working. The only problem is, I have to keep sipping throughout the day and that’s just impossible. I think I’ve drank about 10 cups of tea today. Or possibly more. I love tea so it’s not that bad, but I would like to be able to talk like a girl again.
#16 Sick
It’s official. I’m sick. Felt like a piece of gum stuck under a shoe the whole day. Especially in the morning, when I had to get up for class. It was horrible, but I managed to pull through. I also decided to fast today. Well… Fast as well as I could. I got hungry at about 12pm and immediately ate 2 tablespoons of raw pumpkin seeds and after 2 tbsp of peanut butter. I didn’t feel like eating any meals so I ate the minimum I needed to take my medicine.
#15 Getting Sick
Woke up at 12pm today, despite going to sleep at 12am last night. I feel sick, my head feels heavy, my body feels sore and my nose is blocked. I am wondering if it’s because of my current diet. I am taking supplements too and making sure I get enough vitamins to keep my immune system up too. I’ve also been drinking a lot of tea and that’s supposed to help with overall health. A couple of my friend’s also got sick last week and I was feeling really good about myself since I didn’t get sick. Well, I’m sick now.

#13 Salt Water Flush
I decided yesterday that I was going to do a salt water flush, cause I was feeling a little bloated and constipated the past week. I bought some pink salt (Himalayan Rock Salt) as the sea salt is too expensive and you’re not supposed to use regular table salt for it. I started out optimistic, but then downed 1/3 of the liter and was overwhelmed by this strong urge to vomit, but I persevered and kept it down. Then I downed 2/3 and began to burp like mad. Does this flush make you expel gas too? Now I’m down to a 1/3 of the liter and I can’t seem to get myself to finish it. My stomach is full and I’m afraid of vomiting all over my laptop as I write this.
#12 Headaches
Woke up at 5.30am today and was extremely tired and cranky. Had classes and a presentation so I had to drag myself out of bed. I decided to fast again for lunch today. I had a class going on during lunch time and lasts till 3pm and 4pm would be about the time I would get back home. It was better than yesterday. No nagging stomach, of course I think that’s just thanks to my TOM. I think the fatigue and crankiness could be attributed to TOM too, since I’m never this weak or annoyed before when I was consuming carbs.

Wow! It’s almost midnight here and I almost forgot today’s entry. It’s like 21 minutes to 12am and I am sooooooo tired and craving a spoonful of Kewpie’s Mild mayo but I don’t want to have anything in my stomach before I sleep. It makes me look bloated when I get up in the morning.
